Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A 38-year-old man, his wife and their daughter died while their three children sustained injuries in a road accident on the Ara-Patna road on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place when a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit the auto rickshaw they were traveling near the under-construction Kulhariya Toll Plaza under Koilwar police station in Bhojpur district.
The deceased have been identified as Tarkeshwar Rai, his wife Sandhya Devi (32) and their daughter Chhoti Kumari (18). Three children of the same family - Khushi Kumari (17), Niti (13) and their brother Vishwakarma (10) were injured, while Arvind Sharma (48) and his wife Sanju Devi (42) were also injured.
The SHO of Koilwar police station, Praveen Kumar, told that local people had blocked the Ara-Patna road due to the deaths. Along with other senior police officials, he pacified the angry people and got the blockade lifted.
In another accident on Jagdishpur-Bihiya road, one Neshra Ali (21), a girl and her cousin Taukir Khan (21) died. The accident happened when their bike was crushed by a speeding SUV at Mithu Tola Mor under Jagdishpur police station. Also, another under investigation, Abhishek Yadav (17) died in a road accident at Garhani on Thursday.
At Ara Railway Station No. 3 platform, a 60-year-old man named Vijay Narayan Singh, a resident of Chilhar village under Ajimabad police station in Bhojpur district, died when he fell from the Bhabhua Intercity Express while trying to alight from the moving train.
